The Village Hall has been used by residents since it was opened as an integral part of community life in the village. It is used regularly by the local residents and by Art Groups, Dance Groups, Pilates, Indoor Bowls, Craft Group, Wine Club and Parish Council Meetings. Social activities such as Spring and Summer Fairs, Coffee Mornings and other activities are organised by the Events Team for the benefit of residents and visitors.
Tirril and Sockbridge Reading Room and Library was opened on October 22nd 1914. It was described as a reading, recreation and meeting room in the local newspaper and was paid for by 'public-spirited residents'. The total cost for the building and furnishing was £650.
